New Rule
New life rule: I'm not allowed to decide that something (a job, a relationship, any kind of endeavor) "doesn't feel right" until after I've leaned in and given it everything I have. If I've done my best and I still hate it, or if there's a really practical, sensible reason to walk away, then by all means, walk away.
But don't walk away without a real reason. Don't quit just because something doesn't feel right. There have been times I convinced myself that this pursuit or that person wasn't right for me when I was really just reluctant to commit and push through the challenging parts. I got it backwards: I would tell myself the reason I wasn't leaning in was because I was having doubts. The truth was I was having doubts because I wasn't leaning in.
Remember: It'll never feel right until you do it with your whole heart.
