Dancing Trees

Every tree is in a constant state of private celebration.
Some smart fella who may or may not have ingested a few squares of legally obtained mushroom chocolate wrote that.
Have you ever been alone and struck with a sudden urge to dance? If you’re anything like me, dancing alone and dancing around other people are two totally different things. One feels free and inspired and the other feels like my limbs are attached to bricks. It’s funny how having an observer in the mix changes things.
If there’s one thing I like about trees, it’s that they give it all away for free. A beautiful tree will still be beautiful even if you or I aren’t there to give it an audience. It couldn’t care less about our appreciation or disregard. A tree is dancing in its own way, it just gyrates too slowly for us to see. And it never gets self-conscious no matter who’s watching.
Therefore if a tree falls and no one is around to hear it, it’s because all the other trees were too busy dancing.
